A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State has reacted to the meeting of the state governor, Nyesom Wike with three governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The Governors include Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State.
Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose and Senator Olaka Nwogu were in the meeting held at the residence of Governor Wike.
None of the entourage spoke after the closed-door meeting with Governor Wike who has been silent about the crisis rocking the PDP.
There were speculations on Friday that the APC governors met with Wike in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with a plan to woo him to the opposition party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
A chieftain of PDP who spoke with Vanguard on condition of anonymity said there is nothing wrong with Governor Wike’s meeting with the APC Governors.
He further stated that the governors have their reasons for not speaking, adding that someone will talk at the right time.
The chieftain said, “There is nothing hidden under the sun.
“They have their reasons for not spilling what transpired now, but at the right time, someone would speak if he has to.”
