    Udom begins inauguration of completed projects ahead of 6th anniversary

    Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has commenced the inauguration of development projects to mark the sixth anniversary of his administration having been sworn into office in May 2015

    According to checks, the projects are in the three senatorial districts of the state with the first port of call being Nsit Atai and Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Areas where several projects have been inaugurated.

    At Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, the governor, represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Nsikan Nkan thanked the people of Ibesikpo Asutan for the support accorded his administration in the past six years.

    Nkan noted that despite having industrialization as the major focus of his Completion Agenda, the Governor is also committed to educational advancement and infrastructural development in rural communities.

    At Nsit Atai, the commissioner for Housing, Otuekong Raphael who represented the Governor, appreciated the people of Nsit Atai for being great partners of the Completion Agenda of Governor Emmanuel – led administration.

    The inter-ministerial approach is a model where projects are awarded to community indigenes through the Inter-ministerial/Direct Labour Coordinating Committee (IMDLCC), and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). The projects range from renovation/construction of classroom blocks, renovation/extension of Assembly Halls, solar-powered boreholes, offices in schools, Civic Centers, Health Centers, among others.

    Some of the projects inaugurated at Ibesikpo Asutan LGA include newly constructed classroom block at Iwawa Usung Eket, Four classroom blocks in Primary School, Akpautong, Four classroom blocks at Primary School, Ikot Akpabin, Two classroom blocks at Primary School, Ikot Enua, Four Classroom blocks at Holy Child School, Ikot Ebre, Four classroom blocks at Primary School, Ikot Obio Nko and other 18 projects constructed by UBEC/AKSG SUBEB.

    Projects inaugurated in Nsit Atai include classroom block at Methodist Primary School, Ikot Akpabio, classroom block at Primary School, Otu Abiyan, renovation/extension of classroom blocks at Community Secondary School, Essien Itiaba, Four Classroom blocks at Ikot Asua, Assembly Hall at Secondary School, Ikot Akpan Ike and Eight other projects by SUBEB.

    Prominent dignitaries in attendance include Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ini Ememobong, Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Eno Ibanga, Commissioner for Women Affairs and social welfare, Ini Adiakpan Commissioner for Power and Petroleum, John James, Commissioner for Rural development, Enobong Mbobo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong, SSA on Sustainable Development Goals, Ntufam Elijah Iyak, Special Assistant to the Governor on Interministerial Affairs, Sampson Idiong, political stakeholders from the two local government areas, royal fathers, religious leaders, women, youths, teachers and students.
