The Senator representing Enugu East in the National Assembly, Chimaroke Nnamani has spoken out amidst the controversy that has trailed his ‘political romance’ with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Naija News recalls that eyebrows were raised when it was discovered that a chieftain of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Governor of Enugu State, Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani has been appointed into the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.
The serving lawmaker’s name appeared in a list released on Friday, where he was listed as one of the members of the Local Government Directorate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.
Amidst the ongoing political drama, a question was posed on Tuesday to the lawmaker by a Twitter user identified as Henry Shield about his political loyalty.
Nnamani was asked directly if he was working for Tinubu.
However, in response, the former Governor said he is a PDP Senator, loyal to the party and campaigning for the same party.
He wrote: “I am a PDP Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial Zone. That is my Hustle at the moment. I am loyal to my Party and already campaigning for same.”

Friendship Across Divides
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo on Tuesday, shared an intriguing campaign poster on his social media account.
Naija News reports the poster features the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu on one side and the Enugu East senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Chimaroke Nnamani on the other side.
The poster has a caption, “Ebeano 4 Tinubu 2023.”
Reacting, Keyamo described the development as a confirmation of friendship across divides.
He wrote on his Twitter account as caption for the image; “Talk of friendship across tribal divides!!”
