The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu of running the state like his hamlet or a social club.

The state publicity secretary of the APC, Comrade Benedict Godson who made the allegation said it is unacceptable for Ikpeazu to be running the affairs of the state alone since he sacked 23 commissioners in January 2021.

Godson added that Abia is not the personal property of the Governor and should be better governed.

Reacting, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, countered the position of the APC chieftain, explaining that there is a state executive council in place in Abia as required by law.

He said at the right time, the Governor will make other appointments.

“We have five commissioners including the attorney general and commissioner for justice and his colleagues for health, finance, information and works in addition to the secretary to state government and the chief of staff to the governor. In due course, the governor will expand his cabinet,” he said.
