Governor of Rivers State, Nyesome Wike, has admonished residents of the state not to waste their votes on any political party in the coming 2023 general elections, other than the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This is as the incumbent governor asked the ‘incoming PDP government’ to consider constructing a bridge that would link Rumuodogo communities to Harry’s Town in the Degema Local Government Area of the state.

Naija News understands that Wike gave the recommendation on Saturday after inspecting an ongoing construction work of the over 13-kilometre Rumuodogo 1 and Rumuodogo 2 roads in the Emohua Local Government Area of the state.

The PDP chieftain lampooned the Federal Government over its lack of commitment to the state in terms of projects.

Wike alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari‘s government had not carried out any project in the state since it assumed office in 2015.

The governor, however, praised the former administration led by PDP, saying that the citizens would not waste their votes on another political party, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, the APC government has in the last seven years denied the state basic amenities.

Wike stressed that the people of the state will not support any candidate of the party in the 2023 general election.

The governor in an emotion-laden voice expressed gratitude to God for the privilege to be the one since the creation of Rivers State in 1967, to make Rumuodogo 1 and Rumuodogo 2 accessible by road.

Wike said: “Emotionally, I am touched. I can’t thank God enough for giving me the opportunity to be the person to open up this community.

“What is governance? The whole essence of governance is for people to be happy and having the feeling that their lives will be turned around.”

The governor boasted that because of his government’s achievements and performance, Rivers state citizens will in the 2023 general election wholeheartedly return PDP to power in the state.

“We have shown that we have the capacity and what it takes to govern and to govern very well,” he added.

2023: Atiku Already Gathering Names Of His Cabinet Members – Aniagwu

The spokesperson for the Atiku presidential campaign, Charles Aniagwu on Friday said PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is already gathering names of his cabinet members.

According to Aniagwu, some of his proposed members are from the diaspora and not members of the party.

He further stated that Atiku has started identifying people who can play key roles irrespective of their religion or region.

Aniagwu said the former vice president is putting together people who can handle different sectors in the country.

The spokesperson for the presidential campaign stated this during an interview on Arise TV, Naija News reports.

He said, “As I speak to you, I am in a position to know a few things. Atiku is already penning down names of Nigerians from even the diaspora and those not even in the party that he wants to bring on board.

“It is very much sure that for you to be able to rescue Nigeria, you are not going to just depend on only members of your party.”
