Award-winning Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido on Tuesday revealed that the Osun State governor-elect, Ademola Adeleke is yet to receive the Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Davido’s uncle was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the July 16th, gubernatorial election.
Recall that Adeleke won seventeen local government areas in the state, while the state Governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola won the remaining thirteen local government areas in the state.
INEC had announced that Adeleke gathered 403,371 votes to defeat his closet rival, Oyetola who scored 375,027 votes.
Davido in a post on his Twitter account on Tuesday wondered why the electoral body had not presented his uncle with the certificate of return, 48 hours after he was declared the winner of the governorship election.
The singer asked INEC if it needed money for fuel to get to Osun State to present the certificate of return to the governor-elect.
Davido in the post wrote, “48hrs after our @AAdeleke_01 victory at the Osun Gubernatorial elections, we are yet to receive our certificate. @inecnigeria should we send you fuel money? LOL.”
