The Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu has reacted to the selection of the former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima as the running mate to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Shettima, who is the Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, played a crucial role during Tinubu’s campaign to emerge as the APC presidential candidate.
The former governor will replace Ibrahim Masari, whose name was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as an interim vice presidential candidate of the ruling party.
Reacting to the development, Okechukwu stated that the choice of Senator Shettima as the vice presidential candidate of the ruling party as an excellent one.
He described the former Borno Governor as transparent, a man of action and capable politician.
Okechukwu added that Shettima performed well well as the governor of Borno and also did a good pick as a successor in the person of Professor Zulum.
He said: “On the choice of Distinguished Senator Kassim Shettima as vice presidential candidate; I think it is an excellent joint ticket.
“It is an excellent joint ticket because distinguished Shettima is transparent, a man of action and capable as Asiwaju pointed out. He did well as the governor of Borno State and did a good pick as a successor in the person of Professor Zulum.”
