    Wike vs Atiku – Makinde Reveals Candidate He’ll Vote For, Makes Demand

    The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, on Wednesday, reconfirmed his support for the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

    He pointed out that he and his camp have no issue with supporting the candidate for the 2023 presidential election.

    He however demanded that the leadership structure of the PDP should be restructured to reflect the inclusiveness of all stakeholders.

    Specifically, Governor Makinde demanded the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu as the PDP National Chairman and for him to be replaced by a southerner.

    2023: Nigerians Are With Us, Even APC, PDP Members Will Vote For Peter Obi – Victor Umeh

    A chieftain of the Labour Party (LP), Victor Umeh on Wednesday submitted that contrary to some opinions, the party is not weak.

    He argued that Nigerians have given their overwhelming support to the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi and many of their opponents will be shocked about the outcome of the 2023 elections.

    He stated further that even some politicians who belong to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will vote for LP even though they may not openly identify with the party.

    Umeh, a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who is now a senatorial candidate of the Labour Party said 2023 is about saving Nigeria.

    2023: Wike, Atiku Take PDP Battle To Court, Employ Senior Advocates Of Nigeria

    The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and the camp of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike will be having a legal battle at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

    The suit which was filed by the chieftain of the party, Chief Michael Newgent Ekamon, seeks to invalidate the victory of Atiku and declare Wike the rightful candidate of the PDP.

    The suit which is marked FHC/ABJ/CS/782/2022 also has Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as respondents.

    A hearing notice sighted by Daily Post has indicated that the matter has been slated for definite hearing by Justice Ahmed Ramat Mohammed.

    Sources have informed the publication that some Senior Advocates of Nigeria whose identities are still unknown have been assembled by Wike, while Ayo Kamaldeen Ajibade, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, will lead the legal team of Atiku.

    2023: Obi Needs A Miracle To Win, Atiku Will Take Buhari’s Northern Votes – Ex-Presidential Aspirant

    Except a miracle happens, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi can’t win the 2023 presidential election according to a former presidential aspirant.

    This position was adopted by a former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mohammed Hayatudeen during a television interview.

    He argued that Obi would need some years to oil his political machinery or join one of the big parties if he is to actualize his ambition immediately.

    Hayatudeen however owned up that he may be totally wrong and the 2023 presidential election may just spring a surprise with Obi emerging victorious.

    Atiku, Makinde, Other PDP Chieftains In Closed-door Meeting

    Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has arrived in Ibadan, Oyo State capital ahead of his meeting with party chieftains today.

    Naija News had reported earlier that the Wazirin Adamawa embarked on a visit to Southwest states.

    The presidential hopeful had a stop in Lagos yesterday where he spoke at an event titled: “Private Sector Economic Forum’ ahead of the 2023 presidential election that was held at the Commerce House, 1 Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island.

    Hours after the event in Lagos, Atiku travelled down to Ibadan where he was received by Governor Seyi Makinde ahead of the party stakeholder’s meeting.

    2023: APC Loses 5,000 Members To PDP In Kwara

    The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the week lost not less than 5,000 members to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

    The defectors who were led by Toyin Abdul, Olohuntoyin Rahmeen, Yinka Yusuf and the Igbo community in Baboko area of the state noted that they left the party because of the poor performance of the APC government in the state.

    They accused the present administration in Kwara State of not providing good leadership to the people of the state.

    The defectors commended the leadership qualities of the PDP leaders in the state, especially the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

    The defectors emerged mostly from Ilorin West Local Government Area and Asa Local Government Area of the state.

    2023: We’ll Continue To Oppose APC Muslim-Muslim Ticket – Dogara

    The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has said the Forum of Northern Christians in the All Progressives Congress (APC) will continue to oppose the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

    Dogara stated this on Tuesday in Abuja after a closed-door meeting with all state chairmen of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) from the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

    The former speaker said the forum would not back down on its position regarding the same-faith ticket, adding that it will continue to fight for justice.

    Dogara, however, said the forum would meet with all the presidential candidates across party lines and come up with its preferred candidate.

    Those in attendance at the meeting include Dogara, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal; Adamawa Senator, Elisha Abbo; former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Simon Achuba and all Northern CAN chairmen.

    2023: I’ll Win Imo State For Tinubu – Uzodinma

    The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has given assurances that the people of his state will cast their votes for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections.

    The Governor promised to convince the people of Imo to vote for Tinubu and the APC across board, stating that convincing them is his duty.

    He boasted that the APC has the best plans for the people and based on what has been done in the past, he is sure the people will cast their votes for the party.

    2023: Seun Kuti Reveals Best Presidential Candidate Ahead Of General Election

    Son of Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti, Seun has stated that he believes the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, is the best of the presidential candidates available in the 2023 election.

    The singer was speaking to ObjectTV media on the demise of Queen Elizabeth II and briefly digressed to address the 2023 elections.

    According to Kuti, the AAC standard bearer is better than Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

    He further stressed that if Nigerians want to press the reset buttons, Sowore is the right step in the right direction.

    2023: Babachir Lawal, Dogara Are Clout Chasers – APC Chieftain

    A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has claimed that members of the party who are opposed to the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket are just looking for attention.

    Naija News reports that the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, alongside some Christain leaders in the APC have continued to oppose the party’s same-faith ticket.

    Speaking with Vanguard on Tuesday, the APC leader who craved anonymity described Dogara and the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, as fifth columnists.

    The politician said that Dogara and Lawal are paperweight politicians when it comes to Northern politics and the Christian community.

    2023: Okowa Speaks On APC Muslim-Muslim Presidential Ticket

    Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has again slammed the All Progressives Congress (APC) for fielding a Muslim-Muslim ticket in the 2023 presidential election.

    Speaking at a Summit organised by the Northern Christian Youth Assembly in Abuja, Okowa said he does not believe in the Muslim-Mulsim ticket of the ruling party.

    The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) added that the decision of the ruling APC was the most insensitive decision to make in a country that is diverse.

    Okowa asserted that it would be difficult for the APC to win the presidential poll as a result of the ruling party’s decision to field a same-faith ticket.

    PDP Chairman, Ayu Sends Message To Nigerian Christians Ahead Of 2023 Election

    The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu has sent a message to all Nigerian Christians ahead of the 2023 election.

    Speaking at the northern Christian youth assembly summit, with the theme ‘Unifying Nigeria: The Role of Northern Christian Youths and Women’ on Tuesday, Ayu warned Christians against sitting on fence rather than get fully involved.

    He insisted that Christians need to be intentional and practical about politics because God only help those who help themselves.

    He, therefore, called on Christians from across the country to rise up and get involved in deciding the next leaders of the country.

    He stated further that he was however delighted as recent turn of events have indicated that Christians are now ready to get involved in politics.

    2023: Details Of Atiku’s Meeting With Jandor In Lagos Emerge

    The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has met with the party’s governorship candidate in Lagos State, Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor.

    Naija News reports that Atiku met with Jandor in Lagos State on Tuesday at a stakeholders’ meeting with party members, leaders and candidates for various positions in the 2023 elections.

    Speaking at the meeting, the former Vice President expressed confidence that the opposition party will emerge victorious in the 2023 Lagos governorship election.

    He applauded the party leadership in Lagos for the level of mobilisation of party members and urged the party stakeholders to work harder to achieve the feat.

    The former vice president, therefore, expressed confidence that the party’s governorship candidate will defeat the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

    2023: Atiku, Okowa Should Cover Their Faces In Shame – Shittu

    The Director-General of the Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima Coalition for Good Governance, Adebayo Shittu, has slammed the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, over some recent comments.

    Recall that Atiku at an event in Lagos on Tuesday said the country is broke and the economy was crawling rather than growing under the APC-led administration.

    The PDP presidential flagbearer added that the Muhammadu Buhari administration has continued to run the country on budget deficits since it came to power in 2015.

    Also speaking at an event in Abuja, Okowa said the Muslim-Muslim ticket fielded by the APC in the 2023 presidential election was the most insensitive decision to make in a county like Nigeria.

    But in an interview with The Punch, Shittu described Atiku and Okowa as unrepentant PDP leaders that deserve to cover their faces in shame.

    The former minister said Tinubu is known for picking the best hands to work with him, hence his choice of the former Governor of Borno, Kashim Shettima, as his running mate.
