    2023: He’s Now A Political Enemy – APGA Vows To Work Against Peter Obi

    The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has taken a stand against the presidential ambition of the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi.

    The party in a chat with newsmen on Thursday by the National Coordinator, APGA Media Warriors Forum, Mr Chinedu Obigwe said anybody expecting them to work for Obi is living in a fool’s paradise.

    He added that there’s no justification for APGA to leave its own candidates and be working for Obi and other Labour Party candidates.

    Speaking further, he described Obi’s 2023 presidential ambition as an ill-conceived idea which is dead on arrival.

    2023: PDP Stealing From Itself, Will Loot Nigeria’s Treasury If Elected – Lai Mohammed

    The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has cautioned Nigerians against voting for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 elections.

    The Minister alleged on Thursday that the PDP does not have any good plans for Nigerians as the party’s only focus is to continue looting the nation’s treasury.

    Mohammed who spoke with newsmen on the sidelines of attending the 65th meeting of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO)’s Commission for Africa in Arusha, Tanzania, lamented that only meagre resources were left in the country’s coffers when the All Progressives Congress (APC) took over power in 2015.

    He argued that if the PDP is able to reclaim power, the only agenda is to continue looting the country’s commonwealth.

    Naija News reports the Minister spoke against the recent financial controversy that enveloped the PDP over the return of N122.4 million by some members of the PDP’s national working committee (NWC).

    Mohammed called for a probe of the major opposition party’s finances.

    2023: Nigerians Can’t Be Deceived By Photographs – Sowore Lampoons Tinubu’s Handlers

    The 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, on Thursday, lampooned social media handlers of his counterpart from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over their recent photo uploads.

    Naija News understands that following speculation that Tinubu is sick and receiving treatment abroad, aides and loyalists to the former Governor of Lagos State have been making every attempt to defend their principal on various social media platforms and broadcasting stations.

    The aides, including Tinubu himself, have uploaded a fleet of photos and videos on social media in an attempt to convince Nigerians that the presidential candidate is hale and hearty.

    Reacting, however, to a recent photo uploaded online by the APC camp, Sowore said the era of deception has ended and Nigerians can no longer be deceived by mere photo uploads.

    Sowore declared that Nigerians would no longer be governed by politicians using photos as proof of life. He tweeted: “The era of using photos to deceive and fleece unsuspecting citizens has passed! Thanks to @MBuhari, who scammed these bogies, Nigerians can’t be fooled by these old antiquated gimmicks and antics by @officialABAT handlers. Nigerians won’t be governed by photographs anymore”.

    Atiku Appoints New Presidential Campaign Spokesperson

    The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has approved the appointment of a new campaign spokesman.

    This was made known in a statement to Naija News by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, on Thursday.

    Atiku appointed Kolawole Stephen Ologbondiyan, former National Publicity Secretary of the PDP as one of his spokesperson for the 2023 presidential campaign.

    Ologbondiyan whose appointment takes immediate effect will join Senator Dino Melaye and Daniel Bwala as the PDP campaign council spokespersons.

    Atiku had earlier appointed other spokespersons to project his unique selling points and keep the electorate updated about goings on in the campaign.

    He’s A Candidate, Not The President – Keyamo Fires Warning Shot To Those Monitoring Tinubu’s Movements

    The spokesman of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo has cautioned those monitoring the whereabouts of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu to respect his privacy.

    Speaking on Thursday, Keyamo stated that he is aware not all those making enquiries about the health and whereabouts of Tinubu are doing it in good faith.

    He added that some are simply being mischievous, noting that Tinubu is just a candidate at this point and not the President of Nigeria, hence does not always need to publicly declare his movement.

    The campaign spokesperson however declared during his appearance on Arise TV that Tinubu is hale and hearty, adding that he still spoke with Seyi (Tinubu’s son) who is with his dad in the UK this morning (Thursday).

    Keyamo stated further that going forward, the party, Tinubu, and the presidential campaign council would not be issuing press statements to explain the former Lagos State governor’s whereabouts.

    He however dismissed trending rumours that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate is on a medical trip, adding that Tinubu is expected back in Nigeria in a couple of days.

    The Evidence Is Trending On Social Media – APC (UK) Speaks On Tinubu Travelling Abroad For Health Issues

    The United Kingdom Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is hale and hearty.

    Chairman of the APC, UK Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Joseph Adebola, said this in a statement on Thursday.

    He stated that reports of the APC flag bearer travelling abroad to seek medical assistance were untrue.

    He explained that his principal has been having strategic meetings with some party stakeholders in the UK.

    He said the meeting was scheduled to resolve some lingering issues ahead of the APC presidential campaign.

    Atiku Was Chosen By God – Ayu Claims

    The National Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu has stated that the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar is chosen by God.

    Recall that the former vice president emerged as the PDP flagbearer after defeating the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and other presidential aspirants.

    Ayu, speaking in Bauchi State on Wednesday, said God chose Atiku to correct all the challenges bedevilling the nation and unify it.

    The PDP National Chairman stated this while receiving thousands of defectors in Bauchi State ahead of the 2023 general elections.

    Ayu, while addressing the defectors, assured them that they would enjoy a level-playing field within the PDP

    He further stated that people trying to cause division in the party would be disappointed.

    We Have Refused To Let The Igbos Go, Still We Don’t Want Them As Presidents – Adebanjo

    Leader of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has once again reiterated his reason for backing the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

    Speaking during an interview with Daily Independent, the Afenifere chieftain stated that his support for the LP flag bearer is based on equity and fairness.

    He opined that the South East has not produced a president since the return of Nigeria to civilian rule in 1999.

    Adebanjo argued that the presidency is not a seat meant for some certain regions and it is only fair for the Igbos to take over power.

    Speaking further, he stated that he would not be supporting Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because it would not be fair for a Northerner to leave power and another Northerner takes over.

    Ha argued that Nigeria have refused to allow the Igbos to create their own sovereign state but choose to continue to sideline them at the national level.

    Osun APC Primary: Oyetola Appeals Court Ruling Nullifying His Candidacy

    The Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola has appealed the ruling of the Federal High Court nullifying his nomination as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the July 16, 2022 election.

    Recall that the court nullified Oyetola and his deputy’s nomination on the ground that Governor Mai Mala Buni who submitted their names to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) violated the provisions of Section 183 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Section 82(3) of the Electoral Act 2022.

    The Osun State governor has applied to the Federal Appeal Court in Abuja, seeking to stay the execution of the court judgment pending the final determination of the appeal.

    Oyetola in an appeal filed by the APC through their counsels, Abiodun Layonu (SAN) and Abdulfatai Oyedele, listed 19 grounds of appeal against the lower court judgment.

    The APC Governor noted that the ruling of the Federal High Court nullifying their nomination is against the weight of evidence and constitutes a grave miscarriage of justice.

    They asked the Court of Appeal to set aside the ruling of the lower court and affirm their nominations as valid and lawful.

    Ihedioha Denies Being PDP South East Presidential Campaign Coordinator

    A former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has distanced himself from the reports claiming that he had been appointed as the Coordinator of the Presidential campaign for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the southeast.

    Ihedioha, in a statement released through his media aide, Chibuike Onyeukwu on Wednesday, denied the appointment.

    The former Governor reacted following the congratulatory messages on social media.

    He further stated that the interest of his principal is to put the PDP in Imo State together to harness its resources for the upcoming elections.

    Ihedioha called on people to ignore any purported report of such an appointment.
