Political activist, Deji Adeyanju has reacted to the selection of the former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, as the running mate to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Recall that Tinubu had in an interview with journalists on Sunday at the Umar Musa Yaradua Airport in Katsina State confirmed Senator Shettima as his running mate.

Shettima, who is the Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, played a crucial role during Tinubu’s campaign to emerge as the APC presidential candidate.

The former governor will replace Kabiru Masari, whose name was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as an interim vice presidential candidate of the ruling party.

Reacting to the development, Adeyanju said that the choice of Shettima will naturally deliver Borno state to Tinubu and the APC, adding that the message of the Muslim-Muslim ticket is too loud.

Adeyanju in a series of tweets via his Twitter handle on Sunday opined that the Tinubu-Shettima ticket is a very strong ticket for the 2023 presidential electiom.

The political activist opined that  Tinubu and the APC are saying they don’t give a damn regarding the controversy surrounding the Muslim-Muslim ticket.

He wrote: “Tinubu’s pick of Shettima is a very strong ticket. His VP pick will naturally deliver Borno state to him.

Shettima was at the Centre of Chibok girls abduction and also has a lot to say about Boko Haram. He once said if he said all he knew about Boko Haram, the country will burn.

“Tinubu and the APC are saying they don’t give a damn. The message of the Muslim-Muslim ticket is too loud. In fact, they are having a good laugh and with a divided opposition, they will laugh harder in February.”
