The President of CAF, Patrice Motsepe on Friday stormed Conakry the capital of Guinea to meet with the Head of State of the country, Mamadi Doumbouya.
There has been uncertainty as to whether Guinea will meet up and host the biggest tournament in Africa.
A report from Guinea suggests that the country’s football federation has finally notified CAF about its withdrawal as the host of the tournament.
The football body will conduct the draw for the 2023 Championship of African Nations on Saturday after which the bidding process for the 2025 AFCON will be announced.
Algeria, Morocco, and South Africa have earlier indicated their interest to stage the biennial events.
