Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri says President Muhammadu Buhari would not allow any Igbo speaking person to get the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential ticket.

Omokri who is a loyalist to former President Goodluck Jonathan said Buhari detests Igbo people and was only tolerating them.

The socio-political activist said in a post on his verified Twitter page on Friday, that any Igbo aspirant who thinks he will get an APC ticket is deluded.

Omokri’s tweet reads: “If any Igbo thinks he will get the APC ticket, he is deluded. Buhari detests you. He only tolerates you. How many Igbo are in Aso Rock? The highest-ranking Igbo on Buhari’s staff is Sunday Aghaeze, his photographer. Ben Akabueze is at Budget Office, not Aso Rock!

In another report earlier, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwoland, cleared the air on a statement credited to him about his position on an Igbo presidency.

Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo had earlier claimed that the monarch said that the Igbos cannot produce Nigeria’s next president.

Denying the allegations through a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem on Wednesday, the Oluwo stated that it was obvious Ohanaeze Ndigbo had misunderstood his message.

Oluwo said he is one of the leading monarchs canvassing for a united Nigeria, equity and justice most especially for the Igbo tribe because he had as well suffered marginalisation.

He said: “I’ve invested heavily in sustaining Nigeria’s unity and will continue doing so. I expected a swift eradication of the sit home order by the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and The IPOB which I trust their cooperation with stakeholders and Ohanaeze Ndigbo can curb. I’ve reached out to respected monarchs from the East most especially the highly respected Obi of Onitsha and Igwe Agubuzuo of Enugu.

“The demarcated restriction is a self-inflicted punishment in the united states. No monarch feels the pain of the Igbos like I do. The Ohanaeze Ndigbo should read more about my activities before jumping on the media. My message is to their advantage should they see it as such.”
