Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during a Thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has urged Lagosians to bear the pressure of the current situation in the state.

The service titled “Perfect Peace In the Land” was held to commemorate Nigeria’s 62nd Independence day.

The Governor noted that the state is now experiencing a traffic bottleneck that would be relieved by the installation of the Red Line Rail System.

For its Redline rail project, a 37-kilometre intra-city railway system, the Lagos State Government reportedly received new trains from Milwaukee, United States.

Sanwo-Olu, who spoke during the service, said: “The disruption in Apapa, Ikeja, and some Lagos major roads are specifically to make the road accessible for users. We want to ease the burden on our people. It’s just a matter of time, and this phase too will pass.

“I implore you Lagosians to bear the burden of this little time so that we will enjoy the benefit of a long-term project.”

Sanwo-Olu emphasized further that the state has improved its infrastructure as a result of efforts by his government and others in the past, making it a favorable area for domestic and foreign companies to invest.

In support of Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s sermon on peace, the General Overseer of the RCCG, he emphasized that only through peace can a nation be unified.

“I thank Pastor Adeboye, and Lagosians for their support, and for believing in the dream of Nigeria on the celebration of her 62nd Independence Day and I pray that by next year, I will be here to celebrate with you again as the governor of Lagos State,” the Governor said.
