The presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu on Wednesday apologised to President Muhammadu Buhari for hours spent during the party’s primary election.
The highly anticipated primary election started late on Tuesday night and was concluded in the early hours of Wednesday.
After being declared the winner of the election, Tinubu in his speech apologised to Buhari for keeping him waiting.
Making a joke of the situation, Tinubu said it was an act of revenge on Buhari as he had kept him sitting for too long in the past.
He said: “Mr President, I’m sorry that I’m keeping you waiting too long since yesterday. But this is the time to take revenge, have taken for too long some time.”
Naija News had earlier reported that the former governor of Lagos State won APC’s presidential ticket with a wide margin to defeat the likes of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who came third in the race and former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi who came second.
