The co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu has rejected the selection of the former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, as the running mate to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
Shettima, who is the Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, played a crucial role during Tinubu’s campaign to emerge as the APC presidential candidate.
In a tweet via her Twitter page on Sunday, Yesufu argued that a Muslim-Muslim ticket is an insult to fairness, equity and justice, stressing that the decision is impunity of the worst kind.
She asserted that the decision of the APC presidential candidate is disrespectful to the people of the country and it shows Tinubu and the APC have little regard for Nigerians.
She wrote: “A Muslim-Muslim ticket is an insult to fairness, equity and justice. It is see finish. It is impunity of the worst kind. It is disrespect to people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It shows they have little regards for people and think their structure is more valuable.”
Tinubu is hoping to defeat the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, the flagbearer of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso and the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, in 2023.
