A HUMAN RIGHT DEMAND TO TINUBU FOR CONSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATION BY ALL TRIBES IN NIGERIA – TINUBU LET ALL TRIBES IN NIGERIA BREATH

The United Nations Charter upholds the principles of equality meaning that all member nations are equal regardless of their geographical size or population.

Every member state in the General Assembly has one vote. The vote represents the voice of a particular member nation.

Nigeria is made up of about 400 tribes. The term tribe is constitutional as contained in Nigeria’s national anthem.

    The Problem

The 400 tribes are not, in many cases represented by their respective tribes in the National Assembly. Very many Members of the House of Representatives are alien to the tribes they represent. Simply put, the voices of many tribes are not heard in the National Assembly or in the State Houses of Assembly and in the Local Government Area Councils. In short the principle of human right is not upheld in this regard at Federal, State and Local Government Councils.

Consequently, deep feelings of suspicion, marginalization, non-inclusiveness set in while such a system gives room for corruption, especially concerning constituency projects.

Infact, this is the root cause of Nigeria’s problem.

In contrast, most stable democratic countries are not so heterogeneous in nature. Countries like America, Great-Britain, France, etc. to a large extent have less cultural, linguistic and religious diversity.

Benefits of being represented by tribe:

    • It will erase North and South dichotomy, foster one nationhood.
    • Every tribe in Nigeria will enjoy inclusion and will be heard in the legislature. A recipe for Peace and Stability.
    • It will uphold human right (the right of every tribe to be heard).
    • It will foster peace – where there is peace there is prosperity.
    • It will minimize corruption and increase accountability as well as accelerate development.

For example a member representing his tribe will do his best for his people; short of this he will be recalled by his people. The youth of his tribe will not even tolerate corruption where their Representative diverts allocations for constituency projects that should benefit his people.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, WHILE COMMENDING YOUR LEADERSHIP, PLEASE LET ALL THE TRIBES IN NIGERIA BREATH

    PROPOSAL TO OUTLAW

USE OF PUBLIC FUNDS FOR RELIGIOUS PURPOSES OR FOR PROMOTION

This is a call to outlaw the use of public funds in cash or in material for any religious purpose.

The constitution has to state unequivocally that Nigeria is a secular state and that religion is an individual free personal pursuit of a citizen of Nigeria as it was in 1960.
