2023: Shettima Woos Arewa Women To Vote APC, Tinubu

Former Governor of Borno State and vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kashim Shettima has appealed to women from the Northern party of the country to vote for the ruling party in the forthcoming election.

Speaking during the formal inauguration of the national executives of the Arewa Women for Tinubu at the Bola Tinubu support group secretariat yesterday, Senator Shettima commended women’s contribution to the ruling party’s course ahead of the 2023 polls.

The lawmaker said the doggedness and commitment of the women towards the Tinubu/Shettima ticket cannot be played down.

He acknowledged the immense and valuable contribution of the group led by Hajia Sa’adatu Garba Dogon Bauchi. Shettima assured the women that they would be carried along in all the campaign programmes of the APC presidential team.

“We have acknowledged your contribution. Embark on more aggressive grassroots and nationwide campaigns, especially on women across in the north and make sure sensitization on the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as well as registration is done which will enable them to vote for APC massively at all levels,” Shettima said.

In her remark, the president of the Arewa Women for Tinubu, Hajia Sa’adatu Garba Dogon Bauchi, said they are all like minds with good democratic principles and clear intention to champion the good cause of Tinubu and his running mate, Shettima.

“We are a network of politically conscious, patriotic and productive women in Northern Nigeria with a genuine interest in nation-building projects. And our group shall campaign to ensure the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima in the 2023 Presidential elections,” she said.

Other dignitaries present at the inauguration were Hon James Falake, Sen Grace Bent, Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, APC national Women leader, Beta Edu, Sen Sabi Abdullahi, Sen Bashir Lado, Sen Uba Sanni and a host of others.
