A chieftain of the opposition of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osita Okechukwu, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should expect more crises.
In a chat with The Punch on Friday, the Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON) said the PDP would continue to experience internal crisis for not following its constitution on zoning.
Okechukwu berated the opposition for zoning its presidency to the North, stating that the party should have chosen its presidential candidate from the South.
The APC chieftain accused that the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, of being a divisive flagbearer and not a unifier as he claimed.
He said, “They are trying to tell us that after a northerner has presided over the country for eight years, they want another northerner to continue. That one is at the root of trying to divide the country. Atiku that calls himself a unifier has shown that he is not a unifier, but a divisive candidate.”
Money Paid To PDP NWC Members’ Accounts Illegal – Odeyemi
The immediate past Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Diran Odeyemi, said the funds paid into the accounts of some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) are illegal.
Naija News reports that six PDP NWC members announced the return of the sum of N93.6 million paid to their bank accounts by the National Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.
Reacting, the PDP denied reports that the amounts returned by six members of the NWC members were paid as bribes, stating that funds were for their housing allowance.
In a statement by its spokesman on Thursday, Debo Ologunagba, the opposition party said the money went through due process before being paid into their accounts.
Speaking on the matter in an interview with The Punch, Odeyemi said the money paid into the bank accounts of the PDP NWC members was an inducement.
