Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju has berated the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, over his campaign video for the 2023 general elections.

Naija News recalls that Atiku Abubakar released a one-minute video clip of his manifesto via his verified Twitter page on Wednesday morning.

The opening message of the video reads: “Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking, welcome on board flight 2023 Atiku/Okowa 2023, I have my co-pilot here with me, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, keeping track of all navigation systems, our destination is a ‘United Nigeria’…”

Naija News reports that the video has, however, generated a lot of reactions on Twitter, minutes after it was posted.

Also reacting, Adeyanju took to his Twitter handle to slam the former vice president for making promises in his campaign video.

He reminded the PDP presidential candidate of how the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) promised restructuring in 2015 and they denied it thereafter.

He wrote: “You people have started again. This was how APC promised restructuring in 2015 and they denied thereafter.”

Meanwhile, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, has condemned the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for refusing to back the establishment of State Police to tackle the security situation rocking the nation.

Delivering a paper titled ‘Good Governance or Misgovernance: The Contract Called Democracy’ in Ogun State, Falana accused Buhari of failing to satisfactorily address the crisis of insecurity in the country.

According to the human rights lawyer, the present administration is also doing nothing to end the mismanagement of the economy.

He noted that the Federal Government has grudgingly allowed the state governments to create state or regional security outfits, but they are not allowed to bear arms.
