A former minister of Police Affairs and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees, Aminu Waziri, on Tuesday said the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi is no match for Atiku Abubakar of PDP.
According to Waziri, the 2023 presidential election would be based on arithmetical and mathematical permutations and Obi doesn’t fit into that matter.
Waziri stated this during an interview on Channels TV on Tuesday.
Speaking on the merger between Obi and the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwakwanso, Waziri said they won’t have joined different parties if that was their plan.
He further stated that both presidential candidates are products of PDP that could have come together.
Waziri, however, said both of them will work more for Atiku than for Bola Tinubu
The former minister said, “Peter Obi is an effervescence, an effervescence means it is like a wind just coming up for a brief period and it is going to die down because the presidential election will be based on arithmetical and mathematical permutations and Peter Obi doesn’t fit into that matter”.
Speaking on the merger talks between Obi and Kwankwaso, Waziri Adamu said, “Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso don’t need to go their separate ways before they join forces, if there is a need for merger none of them would have gone to NNPP or Labour party to do that, from day 1 they would have come together, after all, Kwankwaso joined NNPP much earlier than Peter Obi joined Labour party.
“Peter Obi and Kwankwaso are products of PDP, they made a name and created the cliche because they had a national political platform and I can assure you that both of them will work more for Atiku Abubakar than for Bola Tinubu who they have never had any political relationship with from 1999 till date”.
