The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has denied withdrawing from the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress.
The chief press secretary to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode stated this while reacting to the report making round that his principal has accepted to withdraw from the race following the pruning down of the list of presidential aspirants.
Oyebode said the Ekiti State Governor remains the leading presidential aspirant in the race.
Governor Fayemi’s aide said, “That is fake news. Nothing like that. Dr Kayode Fayemi is a leading aspirant in the race and looks good to win the contest.”
In a related development, the APC governors have reportedly slashed to three the list of the party’s proposed presidential aspirants.
It was reported that the governors pruned the list to three aspirants with Tinubu, Osibanjo and Amaechi making the proposed list.
Naija News understands that the proposal is not a binding decision but just a suggestion to President Buhari who has requested them to assist in pruning down the 23 aspirants for consensus.
