A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olabode George, has urged former vice president Atiku Abubakar to meet with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and other aggrieved members.
In a chat with journalists on Wednesday at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos, George advised Atiku to start meeting with party members to resolve the crisis rocking the party.
The PDP chieftain also called on the presidential flagbearer to make conscious efforts to ensure that the party wins the 2023 presidential election.
George also pleaded with Governor Wike to continue to show interest in the party’s affairs and asked members to sheathe their swords for the benefit of the party.
He said: “It’s absolutely necessary and makes a lot of sense for the candidate who wants to wear the big crown, Atiku Abubakar, to start the networking of people and multiple congregations of efforts that’ll make the party succeed.
“I urge Ezenwo Wike to maintain an abiding interest and fidelity to the PDP, which is the best in terms of national outlook, format and reputation.”
2023: Atiku Holds Crucial Meeting With Legal Team
The PDP presidential candidate has held a very important meeting with members of his legal team ahead of the forthcoming elections.
This was made known by the former Minister of Special Duties & Intergovernmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN) who led the legal team to Atiku.
The meeting was held on Wednesday, 10th August, Naija News understands.
Taking to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, Turaki wrote: “Earlier today, I led a team of Eminent Legal Practitioners who are members of the Atiku legal team to a crucial meeting with our Presidential Candidate, and the incoming President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON.”
