A 16-year-old girl identified as Chidinma Anita Chukwudum has gone missing after visiting an unknown friend in Abuja.
Naija News understands that Anita, who resides with her family in Festac town Lagos state was last seen on September 18.
Confirming the development to reporters, Anita’s mother, Mrs Uche Chukwudum said that her daughter finished secondary school this year, wrote JAMB, had a good score and was about to gain admission into the Lagos State University LASU.
She disclosed that her daughter secretly packed her bags last Sunday without telling anyone and left the family house for Abuja.
Mrs Chukwudum explained that they later discovered that Anita had been chatting with a person on Facebook who promised to take her to Germany for greener pastures and decided to pack her bags and moved to Abuja to meet with the unknown friend.
Anita had left a note behind saying that she has gone and will work toward making her family proud.
The distraught mother disclosed that Anita’s sister was able to gain access to her Facebook account and that was when they discovered messages from a person in Abuja promising her a trip to Germany.
She said the matter has been reported to the police and the security agents have been able to track the area where her daughter is but have been unable to locate the house she is being held.
